Rabbits are a popular choice for many families, with an estimated 900,000 rabbits kept as pets in the UK. It will come as no surprise, rabbits are highly intelligent and inquisitive animals.

Rabbits come in a variety of breeds, shapes and sizes, with each bunny having their own unique personality.

Typically rabbits live for between 8 to 12 years, depending on the breed, but some may live for a lot longer.

Owning Rabbits can be extremely rewarding, so why not take a look at our rabbit care advice, on how to keep your bunnies happy and healthy.

WHERE YOUR
RABBIT SHOULD
LIVE

Your Rabbits environment is incredibly important and you should consider the available surroundings before bringing one home, ensuring that your Rabbit Hutch is large, safe and secure.  Your Hutch will need to be large enough for your Adult Rabbit to stand on its hind legs inside. Your rabbit will also require outside space ie: a Rabbit Run which also has shelter from the sun and rain.

BEDDING

Your Rabbit will require, clean, natural fresh bedding, such as our very own `Aarons`s Pets` popular brand of Hay or Straw. This will require checking daily and changing regularly.

We stock a Great range of Bedding for all small animals, including various Hay, Straw, Shavings, Carefresh, Back2 Nature and Paper Bedding to name a few.

WHAT YOUR RABBIT WILL REQUIRE TO EAT

Rabbits have an unusual digestive system so you must be carful to give them appropriate foods.

Grass or Hay is the most important food that you will give your rabbit. Complete rabbit foods, such as Pellets, alongside washed leafy foods should be given daily.

Carrots or other Root Vegetables should only be given as a treat.

Make sure that their water bottle is changed daily.

Here at Aaron`s Pets we stock a great range of Rabbit Foods, as well as an extensive range of natural treats for your rabbits and other small animals, so why not take a look next time you are out shopping in Nailsea. We would love to see you.

RABBITS LIKE TO PLAY

Give your rabbit plenty of things to do, such as tunnels to explore in, hide or run through, wood to chew on and toys to play with, such as cardboard tubes, wicker balls or treat play balls. If you have the space, a sandbox would be great as rabbits love to dig.

GROOMING YOUR RABBIT

It is important to look after your rabbit on the outside as well as the inside which is why you should brush them daily to prevent them from matting. Efficient grooming and cleaning of the hutch will help to prevent fly strike.

You will also need to regularly trim your rabbits nails. Here at Aarons Pets we stock a range of Grooming products for small animals
